Alleged Cop Shooter Surrenders at Queens Pep Boys

The 24-year-old man suspected of shooting Sergeant Craig Bier in both legs in Queens two months ago surrendered to police on Sunday night, The Wall Street Journal reports. Alleged shooter John Thomas has seventeen previous arrests plus weapons and drug charges, but does not yet face a charge in this shooting. The anti-gangs unit officer allegedly pursued Thomas when he dashed off while they were attempting to stop another man. Thomas’s attorney joined him to meet investigators in the parking lot of a Pep Boys in Jamaica, Queens, a shrewd move for the lawyer who we assume combined a client meeting and a brakes checkup.
