Heilemann on NOW: Romney Loss Wouldn’t Hurt Paul Ryan

As the Romney campaign struggles against Obama, our own John Heilemann identifies another potential profiteer: Paul Ryan. Earlier today on NOW With Alex Wagner, Heilemann discussed the implications a Romney defeat would have on the Republican golden boy’s political future. For one, Heilemann points out, Romney’s refusal to completely embrace Ryan’s economic policies saves the vice-presidential candidate from catching much of the flak aimed at Romney. “If Romney loses,” Heilemann said, “Conservatives who consider Paul Ryan their hero are going to say ‘The reason that Romney lost was because he didn’t embrace Ryan enough.’”
