Congressman Todd Akin, who most people never would have heard of had he not started in on “legitimate rape” back in August, is still terrible at not saying offensive things about women. This is especially true when it comes to his opponent, Missouri Senator Claire McCaskill. In September, Akin criticized McCaskill for being “unladylike.” And yesterday, he ran this line by a group of supporters at a Springfield fund-raiser: “[McCaskill] goes to Washington, D.C., it’s a little bit like one of those dogs, ’fetch,’” he said before going on to accuse her of bringing higher taxes and increased bureaucracy to the state…or something. Honestly, it’s pretty hard to pay attention after the “dog” part.
