While time-lapse videos are usually designed to show the magic of nature or New York City, this darker one gives a windy and rainy view of Manhattan as Hurricane Sandy sweeps in and dramatically puts out the lights right around the one-minute mark. They’re still not back, but the scene has already been condensed and put on YouTube, because the world is a complicated place.
