The software genius John McAfee has strayed quite a bit from saving millions of PC users with his anti-virus software in the nineties and is now suspected of murdering his neighbor and fellow expat in Belize, according to an insane report from Gizmodo. On Sunday, police found Gregory Faull dead from a gunshot wound to the head, just days after he filed a complaint against McAfee for allegedly acting a bit “roguish,” and even firing guns, during a dispute. Although McAfee has not been charged, “We are looking for him in connection with the murder,” Central American authorities confirmed to Fox News.
When we last heard from McAfee, he was being profiled in the New York Times for losing most of his fortune. “He plans to spend much of his time in Belize, in part because of more favorable taxes there,” the paper reported.
Then there are the bath salts. According to Gizmodo, “McAfee has become increasingly estranged from his fellow expatriates in recent years. His behavior has become increasingly erratic, and by his own admission he had begun associating with some of the most notorious gangsters in Belize.”
He also frequented a Russian drug message board, where he discussed his zany ideas about purifying the substance most commonly associated with real-life zombie attacks. “I’m a huge fan of MDPV,” McAfee wrote. “I think it’s the finest drug ever conceived, not just for the indescribable hypersexuality, but also for the smooth euphoria and mild comedown.”
“It really scared the hell out of me,” reporter Jeff Wise, who broke the Gizmodo story, told Fox News of his two visits with the tech pioneer, the most recent of which was in April. “When I came back from Belize, I told everyone I wouldn’t be surprised if [McAfee] was dead by the end of the year.”
