Gilberto Valle, a 28-year-old NYPD officer, pleaded not guilty on Monday to allegedly plotting to kidnap, cook, and eat at least 100 women. Valle has been charged with conspiracy to commit kidnapping and illegally obtaining information from a criminal database, and is facing life in prison. Though two judges have already denied Valle bail, his lawyer says she’ll try again tomorrow. While the FBI says Valle was caught “discussing plans to kidnap, rape, torture, kill, cook and eat body parts of a number of women,” his lawyer argues that he should be set free because it was all just a fantasy. That should make the women on his potential victims list feel much better.
