Since NYPD cop/alleged aspiring cannibal Gilberto Valle has already been denied bail twice, no one really expected the judge to grant his third request in court today. Just to be sure, prosecutors threw out another disturbing holiday-themed detail: He wrote in February that he was planning to get “some girl meat” for Thanksgiving, adding, “It’s a long way off but I am getting the plan in motion now.” The judge said his conduct has been “depraved, bizarre, aberrational” and totally unexplained, “particularly for someone who is a law enforcement officer,” so he’ll be dining on prison food instead.
