Video: Hoboken Residents Found It Difficult to ‘Shift to Election Mode’

On Sunday, a plan was announced to allow New Jersey voters to cast ballots via e-mail and fax in the wake of Hurricane Sandy. But at one polling location we visited today in Hoboken, some residents still chose to vote the old-fashioned way, even though power had only recently returned to the area and people were still cleaning out soggy basements. One voter we spoke to said shifting focus from the hurricane to the election was difficult for the community. “Moving into election mode is not something, I think, that most people in the town are readily and easily able to do,” resident Roman Brice said. “People are exhausted … the ones that are vote are the ones that really want to vote.”
