This is not something you see every day. Shawn Corey Carter, better known as Jay-Z, performed at a Barack Obama rally in Columbus, Ohio, this afternoon directly after Bruce Springsteen (or as Jay knows to refer to him, “The Boss”) and directly before the president of the United States. Even if Jay’s set list consisted of “God Bless America” and “Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star,” his mere presence would be enough to get Bill O’Reilly & Co.’s blood boiling. That wasn’t enough.
“I have to do it — I’m sorry,” Jay-Z told the crowd with a smirk. “I didn’t get clearance from the Secret Service.” At this point Tipper Gore passed out somewhere. “I changed the lyrics of this song. It goes like this: If you havin’ world problems, I feel bad for you, son/ I got 99 problems but Mitt ain’t one.” Your move, Kid Rock.
Update: Not everyone is tickled, beginning with Mitt Romney’s senior communications adviser.
