In one election cycle Michele Bachmann went from running a presidential campaign to nearly being ejected from the House of Representatives. Though Bachmann had a massive fund-raising advantage over hotelier Jim Graves and appeared to be ahead by several points in the polls, for much of Election Night the race was too close to call, and Graves told supporters, “It looks very much like it’ll be a recount.” The Associated Press finally called the race for Bachmann on Wednesday when her lead widened to 3,700 votes with 98 percent of precincts reporting, but both campaigns said they are still monitoring election results and will make statements later in the day. Update: Bachmann won by 4,200 votes.
