Jeff Zucker may be plotting to snatch his former Today show colleague from NBC when he takes over as head of CNN Worldwide next month. According to the Post, he may put Ann Curry in the 8 p.m. time slot and position her as CNN’s answer to Rachel Maddow and Bill O’Reilly. As for Anderson Cooper, he’d transition to a “Christiane Amanpour role,” reporting from various spots around the world. (So like Curry, AC would be ousted from his anchor gig and sent overseas?) A CNN rep said, “There is no shortage of rumors about what Jeff will do. He doesn’t start until late January, and any speculation at this point is just silly.” That’s true, but it’s also highly entertaining.
