Amid reports today that Cory Booker will explore a 2014 Senate run rather than facing off with Chris Christie, Harry Reid offered some praise for the Newark mayor, telling Politico, “He’s a very good man, he would be a good senator.” Later Reid thought better of it, adding that he’d still support Senator Frank Lautenberg if the 88-year-old decides to run again. “I always support incumbent senators,” said Reid on Thursday evening. “I would always support Lautenberg or anyone else that’s running for reelection.” Good news senators: If you feel the need to harass interns or hike the Appalachian Trail with your mistress, Harry Reid will have your back.
