The good news is that The Wave, the weekly newspaper serving the Rockaways, is finally back in production after Hurricane Sandy. The bad news, per the New York Times, is that among the many assets it lost (including computers, furniture, and office appliances) were the paper’s archives, which “spanned 118 years of Rockaways history.” Fortunately, the two Playland clown heads mounted on the office wall survived.
