Al Roker is pretty darned excited about the responses to his parade-side heckling today. In what NBC described on Twitter as the “first ‘interview’ with the newly inaugurated president,” Roker yelled to Obama, “How’s it going?” to which the president replied, “Great,” and Roker added, “Is the weather okay?” As NBC’s Brian Williams quipped from the studio, “I think it met the minimum standard: Question asked, question answered, follow-up.” But apparently the real treat was the handshake from Biden, after which Roker screamed, “Yes!”, raised his hands, dropped the mic, and walked away. Shart, redeemed.
