Police responded to the Monroe Houses in the Bronx this afternoon, where a woman was shot and killed. The New York Post is reporting that it is not yet clear whether the 59-year-old was targeted or not. She is the year’s first homicide in New York City this year. While NYPD numbers show there were only 419 murders here in 2012 — a record low — here’s hoping we come in under that for 2013.
