If You’re Trying to Spot Miss America in Brooklyn, Don’t Bother

Mallory Hagan has only been Miss America for a week, but her reign has already been marked by scandal. First, she said she might not use her ticket to the inauguration (she’s been gifted a coat and agreed to attend), and now the Post reports that the Brooklyn resident is planning to abandon the borough that launched her to stardom — temporarily, at least. She says she’s getting rid of her Park Slope apartment because she’ll be traveling for the next year as part of her Miss America duties. Hagan’s things are going into storage, but she’s promised the Brooklyn Paper, “I’ll be back as soon as my year as Miss America is up.” For the time being, if you spot a fellow subway rider wearing a tiara, don’t ask for an autograph.
