Something very creepy is happening to Katie Couric, and even though she’s pals with NYPD Commisisoner Ray Kelly she can’t figure out how to stop it. Every Tuesday, at 2 a.m., a phone number registered to her late husband Jay Monahan dials 911, the New York Daily News reports. And each time, an officer has to respond to her house. But when Couric has a problem, she doesn’t just sit on hold with 311. “I called Ray Kelly, who I know just through the years seeing at different things. ‘Ray, this is so weird but can you help me? I don’t know what to do,’” she told the audience of her talk show Katie. The cops don’t really know, though. Meanwhile, a friend of Couric insisted it wasn’t weird that she had kept the phone line in Monahan’s name since his death in 1998. “It’s simply their home phone,” the friend said. “There’s no special reason she never changed it out of his name.”
