You Will Be Stuck Behind Hapless MetroCard-Swiping Guy for at Least a Few More Years

For years, the MTA has talked about transitioning from the MetroCard to a system of contactless subway and bus entry (think of your tap-able credit card or your office’s key fob). In fact, it was supposed to happen as early as 2012. But the Times reports today that we have at least another “three to five years” of sighing passive-aggressively as we wait for some poor klutz to figure out the ideal MetroCard swiping speed.
