Homophobia in football is nothing new, but Manti Te’o awkwardly telling Katie Couric that he’s faaar” from gay may have started a witch hunt. Another potential draft pick said yesterday that a team asked him questions like, “Do you have a girlfriend? Are you married? Do you like girls?” prompting the NFL to investigate and insist, “It is league policy to neither consider nor inquire about sexual orientation in the hiring process.” If Te’o is cause for concern, the question should probably be, “How many hours do you spend on the phone every night and why?”
