Relentless fear-mongering clown and NRA executive vice-president Wayne LaPierre wrote a way-too-long column for — where else? — the Daily Caller today, in which he conflates the need for guns and the need for stricter immigration laws, warning that “the border today remains porous not only to people seeking jobs in the U.S., but to criminals whose jobs are murder, rape, robbery and kidnapping.” Just like the horrors faced by New Yorkers after Hurricane Sandy, he continues, with absolutely no grasp of facts or reality:
No wonder Americans are buying guns in record numbers right now, while they still can and before their choice about which firearm is right for their family is taken away forever.
After Hurricane Sandy, we saw the hellish world that the gun prohibitionists see as their utopia. Looters ran wild in south Brooklyn. There was no food, water or electricity. And if you wanted to walk several miles to get supplies, you better get back before dark, or you might not get home at all.
While miserable in its own way, Sandy was not quite like an episode of The Walking Dead. In fact, most of the looting cases were thrown out and, for a few days, not a single person was murdered.
