As he puttered in his open-air Popemobile through Vatican City this morning on his way to his inauguration Mass, Pope Francis stopped intermittently to greet babies who absolutely hate him. We’re not saying it’s fair — in fact, if the babies were paying attention during Francis’s inaugural homily, they would have heard him say that we each have a responsibility to show “loving concern for each and every person, especially children.” That’s you, babies.
