Cory Booker Thinks the Government Should Follow His Example on Twitter

During an SXSW panel on Sunday Cory Booker discussed his passion for Twitter, declaring, “I cannot be anymore the mayor who sits behind his desk and waits for the world to come to me.” Afterward, he told Reuters that the federal government needs to take a different approach to social media. “It’s just using it as an announcement system, like you used to listen to in class: ‘The cafeteria will be serving roast beef, and I will be at this place or that place,’” said Booker. “But that’s not interaction, that’s not collaboration.” Next time your car gets stuck in a snow bank try asking John Boehner and Nancy Pelosi to help dig it out.
