Brooklyn Woman Sues City Over Alleged NYPD Groping

Latonya Ratcliff, 39, has filed a lawsuit alleging that NYPD officer Joseph Jette touched her inappropriately and sexually propositioned her, according to the Post. In June 2012, Jette and another officer were searching for guns in the Brownsville apartment where she works as a caregiver, and she says Jette cupped her breasts and butt while frisking her. As we’ve seen with the TSA, the line between a grope and a legitimate pat down can be ambiguous, but her other claims are not.

Ratcliffe says Jette took out his gun and asked the four people in the apartment to “touch his firearm,” then chatted with her about a porn DVD while questioning her alone in the bedroom. “He asked me if I liked these positions and if I wanted to do them with him and I told him no,” said Ratcliff. She claims Jette tried to turn the sexual harassment into something more, giving her his number and suggesting that they should “hang out.”
