MSNBC host Ed Schultz was not at all happy with Politico writer Dylan Byers’s characterization of his new time slot on weekend afternoons as “a relative no-man’s land for cable news programming.” So he used his final weekday prime-time sign-off to explain why he thinks going on from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturdays is a good thing. “Just remember one thing liberals: At 5:00 on Saturday afternoon, the biggest brand in liberal talk gets the first whack at the Sunday shows.” So take that, Chris Hayes! (Actually he said Hayes was “going to do a fantastic job.”)
