Tonight Pulitzer Prize winner, MIT professor, and certified genius Junot Díaz sat down with Stephen Colbert to discuss his work with Freedom University, a school for undocumented students who were banned from attending Georgia’s five most competitive state schools. Unsurprisingly, Colbert wasn’t on board with undocumented immigrants “taking American thoughts and ideas,” but Díaz tried to win him over by pointing out that Superman didn’t enter the country legally. Colbert then presented Díaz with a sweatshirt bearing Freedom University’s initials, so it’s unclear if he succeeded.
