On Tuesday, the Obama administration announced that due to sequestration cuts, it is canceling all White House tours as of Saturday. The move is sure to create headaches for members of Congress, as visitors must schedule tours through their representative. In an effort to make sequestration more irritating for Obama, Texas Republican Rep. Louie Gohmert added an amendment to the resolution bill to keep government funded that stated, “None of the funds made available by a division of this Act may be used to transport the President to or from a golf course until public tours of the White House resume.” The amendment won’t be considered on the floor, but if Obama had been forced off the golf course he could have turned to his other totally non-controversial hobby: doing skeet shooting.
