Ohio Governor Accidentally Supports Equal Rights for Gay People, Quickly Corrects

Ohio governor John Kasich said in an interview published today that, while he prefers to reserve marriage for, you know, normal heterosexual couples, “if you want to have a civil union that’s fine with me.” His office later clarified that when Kasich said “civil unions,” he was using the term “loosely,” and he still does not actually support civil unions. In other words, it’s fine with Kasich if you form a civil union as long as your civil union isn’t a civil union.
