Today, the Living Presidents Club held one of its rare gatherings at the dedication of George W. Bush’s Presidential Library dedication in Dallas. It was a time to say all kinds of nice things about Bush 43, but also (thankfully) a time for a few jokes. It seems President Obama is saving his best stuff for Saturday night, when he’ll have to do a full set for the White House Correspondents’ Dinner. President Clinton got some of the best jabs in, commenting on a shower self-portrait painted by Bush; and even President George H. W. Bush, who was hospitalized recently, squeezed in one small joke, even if it was just meant for his son. The honoree poked fun at himself, saying it was the first time he’d ever been to a library.
