white house correspondents' dinner weekend

Representative Darrell Issa Does Not Look Totally Unlike Jon Hamm

WASHINGTON, DC - JUNE 19: House Oversight and Government Reform Committee Chairman Darrell Issa (R-CA) (L) talks to reporters after meeting with Attorney General Eric Holder in the U.S. Captiol June 19, 2012 in Washington, DC. Issa and Holder did not appear to find any more common ground about the release of documents related to the Fast and Furious program and the committee plans to move forward Wednesday with a vote to hold Holder in contempt of Congress. If something about California congressman Darrell Issa reminds you of Don Draper, then don’t worry: You’re not alone. According to the dark-haired, square-jawed representative, several people mistook him for Jon Hamm at a pre-White House Correspondents’ dinner garden brunch on Saturday. “They kept thinking they saw a celebrity and then were disappointed,” he proudly told a group of reporters. He also joked that he signed some autographs: “If you’re mistaken for somebody popular as a politician, take it.” While Issa enjoyed the moment, former AOL CEO Steve Case came over to say hello, prompting someone to ask whether he saw his friend’s resemblance to Mad Men’s leading man. “Of course he’s much more handsome,” Case said. “I need his support on immigration, so I’ll say anything.”
