Supreme Court Justice Stephen Breyer landed himself in the hospital on Friday after falling off of his bike near the Korean War Veterans Memorial, the AP reports. A spokesperson for the Supreme Court said the 74-year-old underwent “reverse shoulder replacement surgery for a proximal humerus fracture” on Saturday. The procedure was successful, and he’s expected to make a full recovery. This isn’t the first time Breyer has injured himself while biking: “The justice previously broke his collarbone in an accident in 2011 and sustained broken ribs and a punctured lung in a bicycle mishap in 1993, before he joined the court.” No word on whether anyone has used his hospital stay as an opportunity to rob one of his houses, which is also something that happens to him a lot.
