Boston Pressure-Cooker Bombs Were Recommended by Al Qaeda’s Magazine

The exact type of bomb used in the Boston marathon attack — a pressure cooker filled with shrapnel — was recommended by Al Qaeda’s Inspire magazine in a 2010 article entitled “Make a Bomb in the Kitchen of Your Mom.” Instructions were later “reprinted in Lone Mujahid Pocketbook, a compendium of tips for the do-it-yourself jihadist placed online this year by al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula,” the Daily Beast’s Eli Lake reports. This doesn’t mean Al Qaeda was personally involved in yesterday’s attack, but it could be an important clue for investigators nonetheless.
