Co-op That Hates Bike Rack Claims Bike Rack Nearly Killed Guy

Members of a Greenwich Village co-op who recently sued the city over a bike-share rack placed in front of their building now claim that an ambulance “couldn’t get to” to a 92-year-old resident suffering from a medical emergency because it was blocked by the 60-foot rack. “It’s exactly what this building feared would happen,” the building’s attorney says. A photo in the Post shows a man in a gurney being wheeled around the racks to the awaiting ambulance. A spokesman for the Department of Transportation says “the EMTs had no trouble responding to the call.”
