In the infinite bleakness of the deadly tornado in Moore, Oklahoma, the video of a woman finding her little dog under the rubble, live on the news, was a glimmer of tiny, tear-jerking hope. The little miracle puppy pictured here was not so lucky, but the tragic story comes with a silver lining: According to the Oklahoma County Sheriff’s Office, the dog was likely standing guard over its deceased owner. (Seriously, look at those eyes.) However, “The dog was taken to a shelter and the deputy who found the pup, if possible, plans on adopting the dog. Man’s best friend to the end.”
