This was not an elaborate early Father’s Day gift from Chelsea Clinton. This was an actual award that was given to Bill Clinton yesterday by the National Father’s Day Committee at a Save the Children benefit. Aside from being the father who is best at getting people to show up at a Save the Children benefit, it’s not clear what Clinton did this year that elevated him above the nation’s approximately 70 million other fathers.
Anyway, when your kid gives you a mug or a hat or a heartfelt handmade card this Sunday that refers to you as the “father of the year,” just know that it’s a lie. Bill Clinton already won. Your kid is a liar.
