it's science

The Expression on the Face of This Deaf 3-Year-Old When He Hears for the First Time Is Priceless

Three-year-old Grayson Clamp was born completely deaf owing to a lack of cochlear nerves. He recently became the only child in the United States to have an auditory brain stem implant. When the device was activated, Clamp heard sound for the first time ever — the sound of his adoptive father telling him, “Daddy loves you” — and the expression on his face is gold, Jerry, gold.

It’s a scientific miracle. But it’s also a curse. There were so many Pitbull songs that Clamp was never going to have to hear.
