A pair of legit Queens narcotics officers came upon a suspicious arrest in progress and started asking questions, sending the other “cops” (who had a gun, badge, and radio) running. As it turned out, the man the bogus officers had already put in handcuffs really did have marijuana in his car. The more serious criminals — the ones impersonating officers — got away.
