Matt Drudge Is Really Excited About Megyn Kelly

Fedora-wearing recluse Matt Drudge, in typically cryptic and hyperbolic fashion, tweeted last month, “Big shakeup at FOXNEWS this fall will have everyone buzzing, in all directions. A million words will be written…” Today he backed it up, sort of — although he’s never to be fully trusted — with a report claiming that the network’s shooting star Megyn Kelly will be moving to the 9 p.m. time slot, a “shock announcement” that will be Fox’s first prime-time change in a decade. (Things might be getting a little stale.) Drudge being Drudge, he strategically left out the juiciest part: Stalwart blowhard Sean Hannity owns the nine o’clock hour and is signed with Fox News through 2016. “It’s all about Megyn,” an “insider” told Drudge. “She is the new face of cable news. She has it all!” Only 999,900 words to go.

Update: “We will neither confirm nor deny any programming schedule changes,” a Fox News spokesperson told Fox News. “As previously stated, the network has signed long-term deals with Megyn Kelly, Bret Baier, Shepard Smith, Bill O’Reilly, Sean Hannity and Greta Van Susteren.”
