Earlier today, the entire country learned that Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell’s campaign manager is using him and secretly hates him. Jesse Benton, also former campaign manager for Rand Paul, was recorded on a phone call saying, “Between you and me I’m sort of holding my nose for two years because what we’re doing here is going to be a big benefit for Rand in 2016. That’s my long vision.”
“Holding my nose.” Like McConnell, and his campaign for reelection, are a hot pile of shit that Benton must trudge through.
The photo above is meant as damage control. “Look, Benton actually likes McConnell a lot — he has his arm around him! And they’re making a joke about Obamacare, and McConnell is smiling and pointing like, ‘Oh, this guy,’ and they used a self-aware #nosegate hashtag, so that means everything is okay!”
