Actually it was Shemane Ann Nugent’s lawyer who did the talking after she was arrested at Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport for leaving a handgun in her carry-on, but the tone was downright contrite: “She is very embarrassed. She’s never been in this situation before,” said Finn. “She has expressed remorse for any inconvenience for any public safety officials.” Considering her husband once apparently threatened to shoot the president, that’s a remarkably calm response from a member of the Nugent clan.
