While the old and not so old people of New York, Dallas, and Los Angeles learned that Time Warner had abruptly cut ties with CBS (and Showtime!) on Friday evening, the nation’s most-watched network and the worst company in the world announced today that they’re “trying to settle the fee dispute” that prompted their breakup. But we wouldn’t expect a speedy resolution, since the two companies can’t even agree on what’s happening between them at the moment: A Time Warner spokeswoman said “negotiations are ongoing,” while CBS said the network “expects talks to resume soon.” Time to teach your grandparents how to use Netflix.
