The Navy Yard shooter etched “Better off this way” and “My ELF weapon” into the stock of his shotgun, the Washington Post reports, noting that ELF typically stands for “extremely low frequency.” Although it’s little more than speculation at this point, the Post adds that the Navy uses extremely low frequencies in its High Frequency Active Auroral Research Program (HAARP), a favorite of conspiracy theorists.
In August, Alexis told police in Rhode Island that strange voices were using “a microwave machine” to send “vibrations to his body so he cannot fall asleep.” Not that the inevitable conspiracy theories that typically spring up around tragedies needed any help, but this will only serve as fuel.
