BuzzFeed has the nipple-heavy, NSFW story of the relationship between Newark mayor Cory Booker and Lynsie Lee (“wits and tits #stripper #model #weirdo”), a Portland woman who works at the vegan strip club Casa Diablo. The two have shared a playful, flirtatious Twitter relationship, one of the many Booker and his 1.4 million followers share, but most notable in a post-Weiner era are the direct messages the pair exchanged in February, a few months before he announced his run for Senate.
“And the East Coast loves you and by the East Coast, I mean me,” Booker wrote. She replied, “Well now I’m blushing :)” to which he wrote, “Its only fair.”
There’s nothing exactly untoward in the exchange pictured above — Booker is notoriously single — just average, Catfish-ish online flirting, but that may not be considered cute for someone pursuing national office.
“I think it’s pretty well known that the mayor talks with people from all walks of life on Twitter,” Booker spokesman Kevin Griffis told Daily Intelligencer. “There have been a couple of stories about that over the years. Really, the most shocking part of this story was learning there is a vegan strip club in Portland.”

The Democrat currently leads Republican Steven Lonegan 53 percent to 41 percent, his lead down a bit from earlier polls. Lonegan previously alluded to rumors of Booker’s homosexuality by calling his habit of getting mani-pedis a “peculiar fetish” and proclaiming his own manly preference for “a good Scotch and cigar.” We’re not exactly sure where DM-ing a stripper falls on this particular spectrum. It could go either way, really.
