Bloomberg Resists Urge to Gloat About Stop-and-Frisk, Embrace Weiner Costume

Surely Mayor Bloomberg is happy about a federal appeals court blocking an earlier ruling that the NYPD’s stop-and-frisk policy is unconstitutional, but he isn’t showing it. The Daily News reports that when asked about the development at Bette Midler’s annual Halloween benefit on Thursday evening, Hizzoner refused to comment. Bloomberg was up for posing with fellow partygoers dressed as Dante and Chiara de Blasio, and quipped that he was supposed to be George Clooney, saying “I know (the resemblance) is uncanny.” The mayor’s rep said his bright orange pants were not a costume, but with a white shirt and a tie he could have easily been Anthony Weiner. It’s totally inappropriate, but he’s leaving office in a few weeks. Time to live it up.
