This morning, John Boehner pitched House Republicans on a mere six-week extension of the debt limit, a minimal concession to sanity that was met with “silence” and “uneasiness” among the caucus. The problem remains, as before, that many Republicans are convinced that they deserve some kind of reward from President Obama for not destroying the economy. In a sign of just how desperate the situation is becoming, a man who appears to be John Boehner is now seeking out willing Republican partners in a Craigslist “casual encounters” ad.
