The Senate Also Confirmed Caroline Kennedy As Ambassador to Japan

Just after passing a bill to end the shutdown on Wednesday, the Senate voted unanimously to confirm Caroline Kennedy as U.S. ambassador to Japan. Senators were really in the mood for ending lengthy standoffs last night.
