Bloomberg Can’t Recall Ever Criticizing De Blasio

Mayor Bloomberg has been unusually nice to Bill de Blasio since the election, or has at least refrained from calling his proposals “about as dumb a policy as I can think of” and his campaign “class-warfare and racist.” Yet when asked about the switch at a press conference Thursday, he revealed his selective amnesia is acting up again. “I don’t think that I particularly criticized him,” said Bloomberg. “Bill de Blasio was picked by a majority of the voters who exercised their franchise to vote and my job is to work with whoever wins the election. And incidentally, I’m going to live here the rest of my life. So I want to make sure the next administration does a good job in the city.” To be fair, Bloomberg might have meant that he didn’t single out De Blasio, and he did make it pretty clear that he was terribly disappointed with the entire mayoral field.
