Two things stand out about the former NYPD lieutenant who retired in 2008, and is suing the department for giving him less than a full disability pension on the grounds that his obesity caused his heart condition (he says the job caused it): For one thing, $10 million is a mighty sum in addition to the larger pension; for another, the former lieutenant, Thomas Cantore, doesn’t weigh much more than he did when he joined the department. He’s now at 315 lbs, and weighed 295 when he signed on eighteen years ago, the New York Daily News reports.
