Major General Michael Carey, who until October oversaw some 450 of the Air Force’s land-based intercontinental ballistic missiles, had one hell of a trip to Moscow, and while it cost him his job, it does sound pretty fun. Carey drank heavily, starting during a stopover in Zurich, was rude to his hosts about “Eric” Snowden, and stayed out til 3 a.m. with several women whom he later conceded were suspicious. One worked in a cigar store, while two others said they were travel agents, the Washington Post reports. “A tobacco store lady talking about physics in the wee hours of the morning doesn’t make a whole lot of sense to me,” he reportedly told an Air Force investigator. So clearly, he had to stick around and see what he could learn about her. Even if it meant drinking a whole damned bottle of vodka!
