Brooklyn Mall Briefly Shut Down Over Teens

A spokesperson for the Kings Plaza Mall near Mill Basin confirmed that the shopping center was temporarily closed for about an hour early Thursday evening because a “large group of teens caused an incident.” As is often the case with incidents involving teens, there are conflicting stories as to the cause of the situation: The adults at the New York Daily News say that the trouble started after six high school girls got into a fight “because one girl was wearing a shirt with a picture of another girl and a derogatory phrase about her.” Meanwhile, the New York Post’s more hysterical old people described a “wild flash mob” of “hundreds of teenagers” who trashed the place, possibly because they incorrectly believed Fabolous was going to perform there. Whatever happened, some participants were sure to capture the scene on video and upload it to the Internet, because that’s what teens are all about these days.
