Following two deadly bombings in Volgograd, the Russian president used his New Year’s address to promise, “We will strongly and decisively continue the battle against terrorists until their total annihilation.” The attacks killed at least 34 people, according to the latest reports, and put the world on edge in advance of February’s Winter Olympics in nearby Sochi.
